Heliex Power launches three products to maximise energy efficiency

Steam energy company Heliex Power has launched three new products to help a variety of industries maximise their energy efficiency.

Based on the firm's original GenSet – which captures the energy from standard industrial steam to generate mechanical power – the new products are aimed at the industrial sector.

Set up in 2009 by chief technology officer Dan Wright , Heliex is aiming to double its revenues this year and next on the back of its expanded product range.

Chief executive Chris Armitage said the new products demonstrate the company's commitment to innovation, research and development.

“AirComp, SteamDrive and SteamComp complement out existing technology, which remains a unique proposition for businesses looking to generate electricity from their wet steam,” Armitage said.

“They will also open up new opportunities for us – compressed air, for example, is even more plentiful on industrial site than steam, making the potential market very large for that system alone.”

SteamDrive can be used to power a range of rotating equipment, such as pumps and blowers, more efficiently and cost-effectively than an electrical motor.

AirComp uses the original Heliex steam expander system to drive high-energy compressors, while SteamComp uses the original technology in reverse to re-energise steam which has already been through a process, saving time and money.
