Heliex Power has been named as a Living Wage accredited employer.
The Living Wage Foundation in partnership with Poverty Alliance calculates the basic cost of living using the ‘Minimum Income Standard’ for the UK.
At £8.50 per hour, the Living Wage is significantly higher than the national minimum wage. Seen as a symbol of responsible business practice, it helps address in-work poverty while allowing businesses to recruit and retain better staff, reduce absenteeism, and encourage higher productivity.
Employers choose to pay the Living Wage on a voluntary basis, Chris Armitage, CEO at Heliex Power said:
“We truly value our people and believe in investing in them so we’re delighted to have taken this step and been accredited as a Living Wage employer.
While we want the best from our staff, it’s also important to us that they can enjoy a decent standard of living away from work and we encourage other companies across the UK to follow our example.”
