Heliex’s first-ever Two Stage GenSet left our facility this week on its way to a large chicken farm in England.
Once commissioned, the 132kW machine, specially devised for increased efficiency, will generate a low-cost supply of electricity in a biomass Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant that is fuelled by chicken litter.
At between 80 – 100 °C, the residual heat from the Heliex system is the perfect temperature for heating the chicken sheds, while efficiency of around 10% (electrical power output over fuel input) provides improved biomass CHP tariff under the governments Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme.
Featuring not one, but two, patented steam expanders driving a single generator, the Heliex Two Stage GenSet improves the electrical efficiency of CHP installation for applications requiring very low steam pressure or hot water above 80 °C.
The Heliex Two Stage GenSet is the ideal solution for improved RHI returns.
